Grade 3 worksheet generator
What third graders practice here
At this level the GEMDAS habit being built is small but important:
- Grouping symbols come first: in
(7 + 5) × 2, the parentheses are done before the multiplication. - Multiply before adding or subtracting: in
9 + 2 × 4, the 2 × 4 happens first. - Add and subtract left to right when only addition and subtraction remain.
All answers stay non-negative, and every number is a whole number within ranges third graders compute mentally or with quick written work.
Worked example, step by step
Evaluate (7 + 5) × 2 − 6:
FAQ
Do grade 3 GEMDAS worksheets include division and exponents?
No. The grade 3 setting sticks to whole numbers with addition, subtraction, multiplication and grouping symbols, so the only real lesson is doing the group first and multiplying before adding and subtracting. Exponents are introduced in the grade 5 sheets.
How hard is the hard difficulty for grade 3?
Hard sheets use somewhat larger numbers and up to four operations per expression, with grouping symbols in the mix. The arithmetic stays within familiar whole-number ranges — the challenge is keeping the order straight, not long computation.
Can I print a grade 3 sheet with its answer key?
Yes. Generate a sheet, press Print Worksheet for the student page and Print Answer Key for yourself. Entering the same seed with the same settings reproduces the exact same sheet.
