Grade 4 worksheet generator
What fourth graders practice here
Grade 4 sheets stretch the same three ideas from grade 3 with bigger numbers:
- Multi-digit computation inside an order-of-operations setting — two-digit numbers inside groups and products, not just facts to 10.
- Longer chains: expressions with three or four operations, where students must plan the order before starting.
- Groups in the middle of expressions, such as
98 + 15 − 87next to78 − (73 − 35), so reading the symbols carefully starts to matter.
All values are whole numbers and all answers are non-negative.
Worked example, step by step
Evaluate 50 − (12 + 8) × 2:
A student who subtracts 50 − 20 first gets 60 × 2 = 120 — the exact slip this format trains away.
FAQ
What operations appear on a grade 4 GEMDAS worksheet?
Addition, subtraction and multiplication with whole numbers, plus grouping symbols. Fourth-grade sheets use multi-digit numbers and expressions with up to four steps, but division and exponents wait until the grade 5 sheets.
Why does my student get a different answer on the same problem?
Almost always the order. The two classic slips are adding before multiplying and working right to left when only addition and subtraction are left. Have your student write one line per step, underlining the operation before performing it — mismatches usually disappear.
Are these grade 4 worksheets free to print?
Yes. Generate as many sheets as you need, print the worksheet and its answer key, and enter the shown seed to reproduce any exact sheet again. No signup and no limits.
